I wasn't sure what to expect from a venerable establishment like the Sahara. Have the fallen on bad times! Would the property seem run down?
No and no!!! The property is renewed, clean as can be, and the casino areas are a bit of a buzz of activity, not necessarily the sounds of slots but the bustle of people cleaning everything in sight.
Glass glistened, floors were constantly cleaned and polished, carpets were spotless. The guest rooms are hermetically sealed until you arrive.
Crisp and clean sheets await, a remote sealed in plastic, and a free mask and alcohol wipes. The price was great, admission was easy, and I am not a paid shill for the hotel!
This grand, storied property lives on! Date of stay: July Cristal Rodriguez wrote a review Jul Mercedes, Texas 10 contributions. Very nice hotel! The location was good, the strip was near and Walgreens was right next to us so that was very convenient.
The hotel was clean the pool was nice. Helpful Share. Eddie's Insider Travel Reviews wrote a review Jul Los Angeles, California 64 contributions 69 helpful votes.
Steer well clear of this hotel. They have a diner that is sometimes open with a very limited menu and an overpriced Taco joint.
Casino machines are so tight you don't stand a chance of winning anything unless a miracle happens!! The major pool is under construction and won't be open till summer They need to get their act together.
Zero entertainment of any description. They only have 1 hotel block open that reeks of marijuana on most floors. Janine M wrote a review Jul This is by far the worst hotel I've ever visited in my life!
The rooms are dingy and not well cleaned at check-in. I went to CVS and purchased cleaning materials to clean the room before I unpacked my belongings.
No housekeeping services which was not communicated at check in. On the 3rd day I finally got clean towels. Aside from the dismal rooming accommodations the hotel is located in a very undesirable location.
I wouldn't go walking anywhere in this area- day or night. Never wanted a vacation to end the same day it started. Robert B wrote a review Jul Pasadena, California 6 contributions 1 helpful vote.
Good value if you prefer a North Strip location and modern stylish rooms. Well located if you like staying more on the north end of the strip so as to be between most of the hotels on the strip and Downtown Las Vegas.
Rooms are both modern looking very well designed so as to create the sense of being in a much larger space through the use of lighted wll mirrors on each side of the room.
Two swimming pools were open while we were there and a third is coming. Good service poolside. Casino is smaller than some - I like this but others my want more expansive ones.

Everything is quick and convenient. Pool area is great. Drinks are reasonably priced. Monorail is right outside hotel door.
Doesn't take you 20 minutes to walk to the monorail. I love the Sahara. It's fantastic! Can't wait until I can come back again.

Beyond expected. The text line for questions came in handy! So clean and beautiful. Staff was very helpful. Uno mas was absolutely delicious.
There were some hooligans smoking weed on our floor but the staff the hotel and the extras like the pool and the text line really made our stay fantastic.

Great stay! I enjoyed my stay! The staff is friendly, nice, and helpful! Next time I come to Vegas I will be staying here again! Thank you! The only thing that was wrong with the room is that it could have been more clean but other than that it was a great stay!

I thought based on the reviews that this would be a cool place to stay. We had been traveling on a road trip for a week and decided to break up our drive back home by staying overnight in Vegas.
I had never stayed at the Sahara before but had heard of it. I understand due to COVID there are a lot of different measures in place to ensure safety of guests, however, I was shocked to see how many people were staying at this hotel during our one night there.
The line for the elevator was extremely long due to the limit of four people at a time in an elevator which wasn't followed by some guests.
When we called for cups and an ice bucket, it took almost an hour to receive and they forgot to bring the ice bucket the first time around.
We decided to stay in our room the rest of the night instead of exploring due to the amount of people and long wait times for the elevator.
Upon our departure, we waited 20 minutes to catch an elevator to check out, and being that we were on the 19th floor, every single elevator that opened had 4 or more people in it, so we had no choice but to carry our suitcases and bags down 19 floors in the stairwell.
It is the middle of summer might I add, so it was very hot. The other guests waiting with us had to do the same. When we got down finally to check out, the line was so long I couldn't even speak to someone to discuss my stay.
I had called the night before as I noticed a promotion on Facebook and Instagram of no resort fees through the end of August.
I was charged resort fees upon my check in, so I called the front desk while we were in our room and they said they would honor the promotion and refund my card upon check out.
Since I couldn't speak to anyone there, I called them once I got home and the person I spoke with said they actually would not honor it because I didn't book directly through their website.
The person I spoke with previously mentioned that, but was going to honor it anyways. The gentleman I spoke with refused to do so and gave me many reasons as to why they would not.
In the end, I would not recommend staying here. The management is poor, customer service needs help and they are in the business to make money, not care about their guests.
The elevator lines should not be that long, they should not be selling that many rooms during this time so that could be better managed, but its apparent they aren't concerned.
I am disappointed and regretful that we stayed here and will not be returning for any future trips. Date of stay: July Location. Previous Next 1 2 3 4 5 6 … Oxford, Ohio contributions 66 helpful votes.
